Reflection #3 "The Storm"

This was an interesting story, not the kind of reading that I usually do, it reminded me about the television novels that we see every day. The story about two unfaithful spouses, that for a moment of passion, adventure, desire and for being weak in the moment of temptation they commited a mistake, adultery. Alcee was the famous "play boy" lover that seduced and won the love of Calixta. Bobinot and Clarisse are the two victims of the disloyal actions that made their partners. In the benning I taught the story it was going to be about the catastrophe of a storm, but then I was later shocked when I realized the course of the story. I think the author uses the storm as a symbolic term, I think that the storm that he really meant to talk about was the incident of Alcee and Calixta. Because in the ending he said ironically "so the storm passed and every one was happy". Sure!!! every one would be happy because they did not know what happened between Alcee and Calixta. This kind of behaviour is not acceptable and is very dishonest. I think that if you do not love some one, your feelings for the person have changed and you have commited a mistake that could not be resisted, you should tell it to that person, at least you owe him or her that. Even tough I am not sure I would stay with that person and it would hurt me a lot, I would like to be honest and tell me what is happening. I was appalled by the way the two of them kept on their lives very normal, as if nothing had happened. Not even a remorce of their concience, this are the things that put your mind to think and ask yourself, what is happening with this world? I know this are things that happen, it could happen to anyone, but that does not mean is good nor acceptable. I did not hate it, but if I'd knew what was it about and how it would end, I would had not read it. I dont find entertaining nor amusing the infidelity and dishonesty, so I do not support it and by reading this crap I think I am supporting. Mistakes happen, that is part of life, but I have always believed that you can make it better, you can correct the errors that you make, something can always be done. And another thing "you dont do what you dont want somebody else to do to you".

CUTE SITE!
I read down thru your Feb. 4th where you state "That Misfit lost his faith and love for God." Was it really that he didn't have the faith to begin with?
DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU CAN ACTUALLY READ "CODES" RIGHT OUT OF YOUR OWN BIBLE, that "CONTROL" your Destiny?

I absolute agree with your reflection, being honest is the beginning of a good relationship and if we lie about love is fatal because the other person is deceived.
Wow! you really seemed passionate about this story. I have to say that I agree with you because everyone makes mistakes but you can make it better and just lie and not tell the truth didn't make it any better. How can you do something like that to someone you love and don't feel any remorse. I think it's call the storm because it is literally a storm that passes, does the damage and just go away and everything is alright. Nobody remembers it with time.
I really liked your reflection of the storm. I think you have the reason in almost everything you said except in the part in wich you said that by reading this kind of stories you are supporting it. I think that you can read anything you want and about any topic and if you dont do as they say in the story you do not have neccesarilly to support what they are telling in the story.
